These past two weeks have been full of lots of great events and experiences. The week of July Fourth was a pretty slow week in the office with no events or beach patrols. One of my co-workers shared that the week of the Fourth is the most common time for on-air personalities and sales representatives to take vacation.

But this week has been a blast.  So many great events to help organize and execute. Thursday, July 12th I had my regular beach patrol.  I am definitely getting better at prepping quickly for the recorded beach reports. The on-air beach report host/personality is going to let me do all of the beach reports this upcoming Thursday.  Hit up www.kiss953.com or look our station up on the iheartradio app if you would like to listen in!

Later that day, I helped with WERZ’s weekly Dueling Pianos. It is almost the same concept as Brick Street’s Piano Man.  The piano players come up contests and the interns help distribute prizes. This event was a blast and I believe I’m headed back to support this promotion next Thursday as well.

This weekend was New England’s Largest Annual Sporting Event at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  Are you a NASCAR fan?  The New Hampshire Motor Speedway was home to this weekend’s Lenox Industrial Tools 301, part of the NASCAR Sprint Cup series.  Congratulations to race day champion Kasey Kahne (http://www.indystar.com/article/20120715/SPORTS0109/120715009/NASCAR-Kasey-Kahne-wins-New-Hampshire-2nd-victory-season).  The event draws more than 10 million viewers in over 90 countries.  WHEB and ROCK101 Broadcast WPRN’s Race coverage all weekend. We were up at New Hampshire Motor Speedway early yesterday and early today setting up our tents in the Fan Zone surrounded by all sorts of Media, Sponsors and Race Team Fan Trucks. WHEB held a live broadcast of our syndicated morning show “Greg and The Morning Buzz” from the center of the race track.  Later I was responsible for assisting with Promotions, interacting with race fans, handing out stickers and station swag as well as posing for fan photos. I also had the chance to watch a live broadcast from the SPEED Live TV stage, it was very cool to watch their quick reactions and commentary to the live race.

I’ve also picked up the nickname of Miami Kat around the station thanks to one of the on-air personalities, so we’ll see if that becomes my running radio name.
