Did you know the FIRST ice hockey game in America was played in New Hampshire? It’s true! In 1883 at St. Paul’s School in Concord. It’s no secret that I love hockey. My cousins Spencer, Max, and Joey are hockey superstars (Go Spartans)! I’m a huge fan of high school hockey (Go Green Wave) and college hawkey (especially the Miami RedHawks, UNH Wildcats & Dartmouth Big Green).
So I was really excited to cheer on the Manchester Monarchs at their home opener on October 24th. It was an awesome game. The Monarchs beat the Portland Pirates 5-2. The Synchro Stars helped with the on-ice flag ceremony. We had a wonderful time at the game, dancing in the stands during the ice makes, trying to win prizes from the blimp, enjoying all the entertainment, and hanging with Max. It was a great team builder and tons of fun for our skating families.
The Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Program will be spending a day with the Manchester Monarchs during school vacation week on December 28th. Join Miss New Hampshire Megan Cooley and Miss New Hampshire’s Outstanding Teen Caroline Carter for the game at 3p. Tickets are just $20 and ticket orders are due by December 23rd.
