Puddle Dock Pond is officially open! Dedicated volunteers have worked for a very long time to bring this special project to life. On December 12th, their dream became a reality. The weather was perfect on Friday morning. Planning Committee Co-Chair Jeff Keefe skated onto the rink for an official ice inspection as crews finished construction.
At the 10:30am Press Conference, I had the chance to test the ice with Jesse Scardina from the Portsmouth Herald: http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid3639471675001?bckey=AQ~~,AAADT2FngWk~,GynfsEZsmeJIVtEg9hiym8oix-W95yez&bctid=3938963676001
After an official Opening Ceremony thanking the many sponsors and community partners, the ice filled with people of all ages for a beautiful night of skating under the stars.
On Saturday morning, the Puddle Dock Pond Learn To Skate Program took the ice for our first class. There will be Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday Group Classes, and Private Lessons are available too. To enroll, visit: http://puddledockpond.org/learn-to-skate
